Pros and Cons Buying at Aliexpress

Buying at Aliexpress is very simple, but there is always some inconvenience that appears suddenly. These things happen and many people hesitate to buy here or elsewhere. Advantages buying at Aliexpress

There are many products to choose from

It is a big marketplace with millions of products to see. That’s why it’s easy to filter what you’re looking for by price, sales, etc. It’s very convenient because you have everything in one website and you don’t have to google.

Low prices

Things come from China so there are many cheap products. You find practically anything you want 80% lower than on other platforms. Even much more, things in Aliexpress that cost $0.80 you find in other online stores for $14. Also recurrent are discounts from vendors or general discounts on the platform for some special event.

Secure payment Escrow

Do not be afraid to give our credit card number as it is a very secure system. Payments are released to the seller once we have the product in our hands.

60 Day Warranty

The platform has several guarantees of protection for the buyer, and one of them is to claim your money if it has not arrived within two months. There are other protections for the seller and therefore it is better to read them carefully.

Free shipping

Virtually all products can be shipped to us free of charge. They also let us choose between several private couriers that have a cost. If the product has cost us 1-2$ it can suit us that they send it to us by private messenger service since it will not take more than a week in arriving to us.

Tracking and tracking number

They have a very complete order tracking system where we will know at all times where the product we have purchased is.

Disadvantages buying at Aliexpress

There are also some things that the platform needs to improve.

No communication with the seller

Although there are several ways to contact the seller through internal chat, messaging, etc., from my experience it is not much use to ask about any doubt or question. The seller doesn´t know how to write English, so what he will say to you will be a yes or no, or misspelled words.

Not a place to buy Western brand

The quality products at Aliexpress are not really cheap. We have the perception that everything there costs one dollar but products that have some quality cost more. You can buy Chinese brands without any fear but you can’t buy Western brands, even if they are made there.

The product takes between 30 and 60 days

There is an option that you get the package for free but the drawback is that it will take at least a month to get you home. It is not a place where you choose – buy – and take it with you. And if you have a business and import from there, you won’t find the free shipping option useful.

They don’t use Paypal

Paying with Paypal is very safe and fast as you just fill in your email. It is very useful when paying to an online store for lost that you have seen. And many people who buy online have a Paypal account. The problem is that Aliexpress has its own online payment system called Alipay. It’s the same as Paypal but in Chinese version. That’s why it doesn’t allow this type of payment because it’s the competition. Even so, you can pay with a visa without problems.

You can be fooled if you don’t read the descriptions well and then the disputes don’t work.

If what you get doesn’t match the description shown, Aliexpress protects you. The problem is that many times you are specified a description and we do not read carefully the entire data sheet. And when we complain they will be based on what it said in the descriptions. That if there are mobiles that do not work in our country, devices without batteries, etc., all those things will be specified in a section.

Many products do not have the quality we expect

Our expectations for the quality of the products sold on Aliexpress far exceed what is real. At low prices, low quality. That’s how it is. There are earrings or rings at 0.9$ so you will not expect them to be of good quality, or of the quality we expect. The quality of these products is medium-low.

A couple of years ago there was a scandal on the Alibaba platform where good comments were bought to leave in the purchase history. Well, these things are usually done in all stores, Amazón as well, especially in the first reviews for people to cheer up and buy.
